暖かい春の前には寒い冬があるように、この世界は常に波を描きながら動いています。
今、困難な状況にあってもそれは一過性の物。その後には救いがあることを信じて、それぞれが小さな心のよりどころを持って欲しいと思っています。私は「マリア観音」を主要テーマの一つに取り入れていますが、それはかつて仏教徒がキリスト教を受け入れ、厳しい弾圧の中で生まれた土着信仰ととらえています。
分断が進んでいる今こそ自分と異なる存在を受け入れそこからまた新しい何かが生まれ、それが誰かが安らかに生きる糧になる事を祈り。自分なりの「マリア観音」を描いています。

Just as the warmth of spring is always preceded by the cold of winter, the world moves in constant waves.
Even when we find ourselves in difficult circumstances, those moments are transient.
I hope each person can hold on to a small place of solace, believing that relief will eventually follow.
One of the central themes in my work is the Maria Kannon.
I see it as a form of indigenous faith that emerged when Buddhist practitioners accepted Christianity and nurtured it quietly under severe persecution.
In a time when division continues to deepen, I believe it is all the more important to accept those who are different from ourselves.
From such encounters, something new can be born—something that may become a source of peace for someone’s life.
With that hope, I paint my own interpretation of the Maria Kannon.
